I like how the green and pink contrast with each other -- color is such a wonderful thing.
The biggest issue with this is the focus. It seems the camera focused primarily on a point behind the second flower, on some leaves. That may have been a happy mistake, though, because we were able to see the cool water drops on the leaves. But the foreground is so blurry we don't get a lot of detail on the flowers, and I'm sure there's a lot of rich details missing.
The brightness could also stand to be increased a bit. It appears the photo was taken with flash, but with the incorrect amount for the depth of field.
I can't give you specific techniques on how to improve the lighting and focus without knowing what kind of camera you're using, but there is a ton of free information from professional photographers about all the different makes and models of cameras, and how to effectively use all their features.
thanks! I've been critiquing/ editing people's works (digital art, writing, whatever they ask) for almost eight years, so I've had plenty of time to refine my style.
